Trying to find a place to celebrate my birthday with my closest friends, we came accross Sprig of Thyme. The minute my husband called to make a reservation Luigi was absolutely welcoming, kind and very excited to host us. We felt appreciated and very excited to come to the restaurant after our conversation with Luigi. Luigi took his time to make sure we had everything we wanted to celebrate my birthday prior to our reservation. When we got to the restaurant yesterday, we had a beautiful table set up for our group of friends. We had the pleasure to meet Jessica (Luigi’s wife). Jessica was also very welcoming and kind and was very happy to host us. The servers, staff and the atmosphere in this place was absolutely excellent! The food was incredible, we all tried different items from the menu and every single one of them was great, but my favorite was the duck! It was amazing!!! If you are looking for a unique, exclusive and high quality place, this is the place for you, where not only food is amazing, but you are treated like family!!! Totally enjoyed last night’s sold-out California Wine Dinner at Sprig of Thyme. It was a truly wonderful experience and evening. All five courses presented were exquisite and accompanied by a very delectable glass of well paired wine. It was easy to see Luigi and Jessica’s passion for making “Sprig of Thyme” a culinary gem. Already looking forward to their next event.
We had a lovely experience at a Sprig of Thyme. It was my husband and I and my parents. All four of us had dishes we raved about. My husband had the duck my father and I both had steak (mine was the special and gis was the filet) and my mother had the shrimp and scallops. The environment is my absolute favorite kind, I love cozy places with booths. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
I love sprig of thyme for 2 reasons - one, the food is delicious. But mostly due to Jessica and Luigi. Their welcome, and warmth, and friendly conversation make us feel like they're hosting us in their home. I was excited to see Seedlip, a nonalcoholic spirit, on their shelf. When I said I'd love it mixed with ginger beer, Luigi said "no problem! We don't have it but I'll get it for you!" Yes, he got it from a neighboring restaurant. That's the kind of service they provide. the four of us were seated right away (early reservations on a Saturday night). Ordered fried calamari (not greasy at all), 2 different yummy salads, and we all appreciated our main dishes - veal parmigiana, rib eye, dorado, and lamb rack (my friend said they were tasty but fatty). Usually I'm not a huge fan of cooked carrots, but these were cooked perfectly and tasted sweet. I recommend the tiramisu for dessert - I'm usually a chocoholic, so I was surprised I liked that over the chocolate cake. I remembered enjoying our service and food when they were in the hillview neighborhood, so I was very happy both were top notch in their new location downtown.
A very pleasant and cozy room with a European atmosphere. The food was all perfectly cooked and seasoned and the sauces were delicious. Service is efficient, unobtrusive and pleasant. Reservations are a must as the room is small but not crowded. We paid $20 per bottle corkage as we brought our own wines. They are building their wine list and welcome input from customers.

An absolute gem. Small and quiet which is all to unusual these days. Wide variety of entrees with unique preparations. All four in our party raved about their meals.
